{"id":71,"date":"2019-12-11T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-12-11T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/agentskills2.dvsrvr.in\/?p=71"},"modified":"2019-12-11T07:00:00","modified_gmt":"2019-12-11T07:00:00","slug":"referrals-the-never-ending-stream","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agentskills2.dvsrvr.in\/?p=71","title":{"rendered":"Referrals \u2013 The Never-Ending Stream"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cWord of mouth\u201d is by far the most effective type of advertising there is, and it\u2019s FREE.<\/p>\n<p>But, WHY exactly do people refer to you?<\/p>\n<p><strong>People recommend you because it makes THEM look good.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When your client recommends you, it means they have 100% confidence that you will provide the same level of exemplary service to their friends and family, that you provided to them.<\/p>\n<p>When people have this level of confidence in you, they will go out of their way\u2014without being asked\u2014to recommend you.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, if there was anything about their experience working with you that wasn\u2019t perfect, they might be unwilling to take the risk that you might make them look bad.<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever thought you did a great job, asked your clients for referrals, thought for sure they were going to come through, and it just never happened?<\/p>\n<p>Maybe they told you they were 100% satisfied and thought you did a great job. So, why no referrals?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s probably because they\u2019re not telling you the whole truth. They don\u2019t want to hurt your feelings, because they like you. But, here\u2019s what they\u2019re saying to their friends:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a super-nice guy, and he tries hard, but we thought he could have done a bit better at this, or that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s some reason they weren\u2019t thrilled; they\u2019re just not telling you.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s be clear. They don\u2019t think you did a terrible job! Not at all! They were, in fact\u2026 \u201csatisfied.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yuck. I hate that word.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You don\u2019t get referrals by being \u201csatisfactory.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Think about it.\u00a0 You go to a store, and you received \u201csatisfactory\u201d service.\u00a0 Do you call up your friends and say, \u201cHey, you\u2019ve got to check out this store!\u00a0 Their products are adequate, and the service was satisfactory!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nope. \u200d<\/p>\n<p><strong>You get referrals by being \u201cexceptional.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you provide your clients with the right information at the right time, when you have highly-effective systems and procedures, when you are proactive rather than reactive, when you know what to say and how to say it in different situations, these are all ways to eliminate misunderstanding and problems before they occur and to improve the value that you provide to your clients dramatically.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cTry not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value\u201d \u2013 Albert Einstein<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The truth is it\u2019s far easier and more rewarding to run your business around providing exceptional service and creating a never-ending stream of referrals, rather than having to pursue low-quality \u201cleads\u201d every day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wouldn\u2019t you rather be \u201ctaking care of business\u201d rather than \u201cchasing after business\u201d? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s what the Agent Skills Master\u2019s Program is all about.<\/p>\n<p>You can\u2019t just decide from inside your head that from now on, you\u2019re going to be exemplary in every situation!
